I love music, food and people. I also love people who give me food.
I am a huge music junkie and an avid concert goer.
I play the guitar, piano, French horn, trumpet, and a little percussion.
I also love singing and I wish to be performing one day.

The both of them are so adorable! Taylor Swift is so funny on variety shows all the time I totally have a celeb crush on her.

Dear Stef,
You have finally hit the the big 20 so that means... Uh okay I don't really know what that means. ._.
You know, three years have passed since we first started Poly, and sometimes I still do wonder if I picked the right institute to go into. But the more I think about it, the more I feel that I made the right choice - and you are, and always will, be a big part of it. So cheesy, I know, but that's how am, hehe.
Anyway, although we're still hoping to get into the same university and be coursemates again and all, uhm, just in case we don't, we still must have our perpetual lepak sessions at the airport alright? Of course plus the other nonsense we do.
We will be having the best memories in less than 80 days time and I'm really looking forward to it! All fired up for Seoul! Please don't make me wait 2 hours for you to wake up every morning.
And where life takes us after that, or in the future, you'll always have a special place in my heart *tries to find an empty space beside my biases* and you'll always be a 扣肉包 to me.
I know you don't believe in horoscope stuff but sometimes, they are uncannily true:
"A friendship between a Sagittarius and a Pisces represents an ideal combination. Sagittarius is outgoing and versatile, and in a friendship with Pisces often becomes the protector of their more gentle partner. Pisces, in turn, gives Sagittarius quiet understanding and a place to rest, away from Sagittarius' exhausting pursuits."
In short, I will protect you always our friendship is perfect!
And lastly, stop being such a pig.
생일축하합니다!~ ^^
Sincerely yours,
Michy
Derping forever.

So yeah, my three years of Poly have almost come to an end ('cept for MedLaw exam on the 29th). I don't exactly know what to feel. I'm like glad that I have completed these three years, but then again I'm really reluctant and sad to leave. It's like, I really don't want to go out into the real world. It just seems so daunting and full of uncertainties. Whenever I think of Uni I'm like just like urghh. Yeah.
I still wanna be able to perform on stage. :( But I know that it will never become a reality so.. I don't know, I'm dejected.
Uh well. Goodnight.

I'm not a cello player but this is amazing.
For some reason it sounds so inspiring. Sounds like something from an epic soundtrack. This guy is in a duo with a pianist named Jon Schimdt and he is to me, one of the best, if not the best, contemporary pianist out there now.
Here's a song called 'All of Me' written and performed by him and the song literally uses all of him - who the hell uses their elbows to play the piano?! Now watch it and be awed.

So, Infinite just wrapped up their Second Invasion concert in Korea and mannn how I wish I could have been there. Apart from performing all their hit songs, and of course with special mention, Woohyun's solo performance of Time, I think the most unexpected performance came from Sungjong and Sungyeol who performed Trouble Maker. It was well...entertaining. And I ended up in fits of laughter when it came to the last part. The weird thing is that Sungyeol actually looked like Hyuna from some angles LOL.
P.S. Watch at your own risk.
Just watched the last episode of their Birth of a Family. It's a show where they take care of three abandoned puppies until they are ready to be adopted. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a fan of animals, but honestly ANY parting scene with an animal or a child is sure to send me bawling my eyes out.
The worst part is that I don't even understand anything they are saying! I think I'd cry even harder when I watch one with subs. Dongwoo crying makes me want to hug him so badly though.
In other news, I just saw some news that Infinite may be having their Korean comeback in May! Hopefully it is true hehehe.
Back to catching up with my shows without having to worry about deadlines! Yesssss! \m/

I have been listening to nothing but The Fray's newest album the whole evening and night!
Crazily addicted to the whole album, especially Heartbeat (the first single), Run For Your Life and Rainy Zurich.
My favourite has got to to be I Can Barely Say though.
There's just something about piano + strings and chords like these. Plus meaningful lyrics and an amazing singer. I will compose an epic piano ballad one day!
Two more frigging days - then all our assignments will be done. Hang in there Michy!!
Beautiful Show

Dongwoon's so handsome LOL so why am I not going for BEAST's Beautiful Show? WHY? I want to see Dongwoon's and Doojoon's 'Before the Door Closes' live.

Oh uhm by the way I'm keeping this blog conservative thus the last picture hahaha.

Stef and I booked our tickets to Korea yesterday! Here's looking forward to 9th May! I can barely wait! ^^
Last week we celebrated one of my favourite holidays - Chinese New Year! It didn't feel like CNY to begin with to be honest since we had assignments due just after the two day break. Nevertheless, it was a good break and a good excuse for me to go around eating. And collecting angpaos. Heh. Not to mention that my bro and I won big time in Blackjack.
Day 1.
Day 2. Hahaha my CNY outfits look like stuff that I usually wear...
Hahahaha my poor bro has to piggyback such a fat monkey.
One of the rare full family photos.
Cousins from my dad's side and my bro.
Part of the relatives from my mum's side.
Dad and mum hehe.
My super adorable niece!
And in the middle of the Chinese New Year festivities (and lots of deadlines), we got together to celebrate our da jie, Rachel's birthday! ^^ After scares and some frustration, Cheryl and I managed to get the Poly bunch, with the exception of a few *insert sad face* to go to Sarang and surprise her there. It was really nice to get together with the whole bunch after all the madness.
Birthday girl! The cake was really nice, despite the fact that it was cheese...
Being creepy since 1992.
The weekends were well-spent with the Poly bunch (again) at Jon's and Yiyun's place for steamboat and BBQ respectively - complete with great food, great company, dancing and lots of music. And Yiyun's mum's hospitality. And her shark's fin bone soup. Heh.
Too hungry.
Love this photo.
Guess who was winning big? That's Stef my lucky star sitting behind me. Hehe.
There's still one more weekend till Chinese New Year draws to a close but I guess I won't be celebrating it any longer. Sian no more angpaos. At least there's still bakkwa at home.
That's the least of my worries though - the major assignments (ATV and Scriptwriting) are due soon, and after that there's French Speaking Test, followed by one week of study break, and Media Law exam. I CAN DO THIS. And so can all of you, my Poly mates! Fighting! And may Feb 2012 be a great one!
(FT Is)Land Ahoy!

So here's my PLAY! FT Island Concert experience - a review plus some fangirling at the side, haha.
The boys of FT Island arrived in Singapore in the wee hours of the morning on 15th January and headed down to The Max Pavilion after a few hours of rest at the Ritz Carlton.
Even though they had a concert in Kuala Lumpur just the night before, the boys showed no sign of fatigue. In fact, Lee Hong Ki (lead vocals) who was down with a flu, Choi Jong Hoon (lead guitar), Lee Jae Jin (bassist), Song Seung Hyun (guitar), and Choi Min Hwan (drums) showed much enthusiasm and energy on stage, definitely not disappointing the fans who have been waiting for their solo concert for four years.
The banner sign thing fell when there was a storm at like 4am. I almost died hahaha fyi the blue checkered mat was where I was sitting.
But the weather was really nice during the afternoon.
Practically my only source of entertainment - apart from the new friends I made of course.
And after queuing up for some 16 hours (and crazy weather), I finally got to get my first look of the stage.
Compared to many other K-Pop concerts, this one was not as elaborate. The stage setup was simple and there were no fancy props. Simple pyrotechnics, transitions in the form of video footages, and good music were enough to satisfy the fans. An extended stage was included for the members to interact more with their fans.
Clad in comfortable clothing and leather jackets, all five members exuded a rock-star feel representing their unique genre of music. Contrary to most mainstream K-Pop groups, they were comfortable in their own skin and simply sang and played their hearts out – not forgetting their attempts in communicating with the fans in their obviously rehearsed (but really cute) English, where Hong Ki proclaimed his love for band mate Jae Jin, and also for the Singaporean fans. He even shouted a profanity at one point of the concert, “Singapore, you are fucking cool!”
Hongki's pants were quite ugly btw.
They chose one of their greatest hit songs, I Hope, to start off the concert. Following that, they hyped up the crowd even more with other hits like Love Love Love and Hello Hello.
Bringing up the atmosphere were their J-Rock tunes, like Let It Go and their debut Japanese song, Flower Rock, which surely left the many Japanese fans in the audience craving for more.
They then took it a little slower with their trademark ballads. While Hong Ki's husky voice complemented the mood of the songs and he hit all the high notes perfectly, the rest of the members also showcased their vocal improvement through I Confess, a ballad written by leader Jong Hoon. Min Hwan especially awed everyone when he challenged and managed to pull off the most difficult part of the song. I could not help but tear at this part - I don't know why - but I just felt so proud! Sigh maknae's all grown up, and his vocals have definitely matured along with him. And I was sobbing quite uncontrollably by the time it came to the next song, Even Your Tears. It was quite funny though because I was singing along to the song which consisted of lyrics like 'don't cry, I love you' while tears streamed down my face bleahhhh.
It was after the ballad segment which showed Hong Ki's voice faltering a little. He deliberately brought down most of the high notes to a lower pitch which took the thrill out a little – not that it deterred any of the audience which mostly consisted of teens to continue rocking out to the tunes.
Fans knew that the 2-hour concert was coming to an end when the introductory guitar riff of Primadonna (also the name of FT Island fans) was played.
After shouts of ‘encore’ from the 3000-odd audience, the boys came out to perform their last three songs. The concert ended on a high note with Like a Bird. The audience was certainly transported to another island (though not literally). At least, I was - on an island with just me and FT Island playing for me, LOL.
It could have been a perfect experience for the fans if not for the less than desirable sound system, which resulted in extremely low volumes in vocals at times. There was also poor crowd control when fans rushed to the free standing pit causing some of them to fall.
Nevertheless, performance-wise, FT Island did an amazing job and their showmanship proved to us why they are one of the top Rock groups in the Korean music scene.
The next day, the boys had an autograph session at City Square Mall where 500 lucky fans got to get up close and personal with them. One of the fans even wore a wedding gown, catching the eye of the members (and everybody else). They were all smiles and waved occasionally at the crowds.
Stef, Jiaqi and myself failed to be part of the 500 lucky ones and so we went to find a good spot to shoot photos.
My super stalker-ish photo of Stef.
Stef took this and she says it's nice.
And below is a Minhwan-loves-me-a-lot-so-he-keeps-looking-at-my-camera-appreciation-pictures section:
He really loves me.
After the session we went to Manna Restaurant with some newly made friends which we reckoned they were going to have dinner at. Thankfully we were right.
They were in this room LOL.
And uhm, Hongki's shoes... Haha.
After eating we just stood near the doors of the private room that they were in and omg one of the staff opened the door and I saw Hongki (the angle allowed Stef and I to be the only ones to be able to look inside) so I waved at him. And he waved back.
HE WAVED BACK.
Hahaha I was dying but I had to control myself. And when they walked out of the room to get to their van they were frigging less than a metre away from me. Sigh they are all so handsome really. And Minhwan... Let's just say he made me fall in love with him all over again ❤
It has been almost 2 weeks since my encounter with them but everything's still deeply etched in my mind. And I'll cherish this for a really long time...till my next concert LOL. And that will probably be The Cab's gig on 10th March.
This is the end of my not-very-fangirlish concert post. Will update on Chinese New Year next week! Night everyone! xx
